What if dog trainers ran your dog's daycare program?

We know there are days when you can't be at home, but you don't want your dog to be alone.

We know what it's like to have a high energy dog, but live in a townhome or apartment.

Daycare is a good option for dogs who like other dogs, especially older puppies and adolescents who benefit from exercise and enjoy play.

That doesn't mean your social butterfly wants to spend the day in an empty room with 30 other dogs -- with no stimulation, little supervision, and no plan. Unfortunately, that's the reality at many dog daycares. House training your puppy, but take him to an indoor day care? Never mind.

Did you know? Many daycares admit too many dogs, put them together in a room that looks like a hockey rink, and allow them to "play" with minimal supervision. The owner isn't anywhere near the place, and he is an investor who loves dogs, but doesn't know much about them. Or -- perhaps you've found a bootleg daycare -- the location isn't registered with the County, or certified by Animal Care and Control, or even insured. The owner may not even know that the County *has* requirements for home businesses, especially those that keep dogs when the owner is not present. What will happen if there's an accident?

We want to offer you a better choice.

To Consider

Your dog will come tired. Don't be surprised if he sleeps more than usual the day after daycare. He may also drink more he normally does.

When dogs play with other dogs, they become dirty. Although we brush dogs before they go home, you may certainly ask for a going home bath. We are happy to do this for you ($25 short haired dogs, $45 long haired dogs).

Daycare isn't for all dogs. Social puppies and young adolescents enjoy it the most. We evaluate dogs prior to entry, but if we find your dog isn't enjoying the program, we will discuss other options with you.
